Chapter life has been an integral part of Women’s American ORT’s history, bringing together local women to plan events that raise critical funds for the ORT program. For many of our members, it has been the entrée to the organization, providing not only a vehicle for learning about the program that serves nearly 290,000 students a year, but also offering a forum for meeting like-minded women committed to quality education and Jewish community life.

One of the goals for WAO's web site is to help bring our members closer together through the use of the Internet. This section was developed to provide information, resources and support for those members who are involved with a chapter, a hands-on guide to chapter life.

In this section, you’ll find:

• WAO’s Fund raising Resource Center, with ideas for fund raising events, tips for solicitation, an explanation of WAO’s Major Contributor giving levels and a sample solicitation letter for auction or goodie-bag items.
• A Planned Giving section explaining WAO’s planned giving programs that can help you have an income for life, avoid capital gains tax, receive current income tax deductions, become part of the elite Baroness de Gunzbourg Society and best of all, ensure an ORT education for generations yet to come.
• A section on Publicity/PR, which offers guidelines for getting your news into local newspapers, sample press releases and calendar listings, and WAO web site templates for creating your own chapter web site.
• Leadership Development, which features information about our dynamic National Mentoring program, as well as Young Leadership at Women's American ORT and the many opportunities available.
• Community Activities, such as ORT Shabbat, which provides an opportunity to publicize Women’s American ORT, its mission and its activities in your community.
