Local and National Leadership Positions
Young Leaders have many opportunities to take on both local and national leadership positions within the organization. One can choose to take on a leadership role as part of her local chapter. National leadership opportunities include chairing events, participating on committees and serving on the Board of Directors.

The President's Young Leadership Council (PYLC)
Since its inception in 1994, more than 69 women have graduated from the President's Young Leadership Council, gaining the valuable experience, knowledge and confidence necessary to take on greater leadership roles. During an 18-month tenure, members receive significant skills training, meet and interact with important leaders of Women's American ORT and the Jewish communal world, and network and bond with other like-minded, caring young women from around the country.

Being a member of the PYLC is a truly rewarding experience that allows for personal growth and exploration. By learning and gaining inspiration from prominent leaders and instructors, members come away from their tenure with the practical tools and wisdom to help carry them forth in their personal, professional and civic lives.

PYLC Alumni Link (PYLC's Alumni Association)
Graduates from the PYLC Program become members of the PYLC Alumni Link. Alumnae enjoy ongoing relationships with their fellow graduates and are also given many opportunities for advanced leadership training within the national organization.

National Mentoring Program
The National Mentoring Program matches up and coming local leaders with members of the Board of Directors to provide an ongoing opportunity for learning and growth. Participants receive significant personal enrichment and leadership development training through telephone contact, written materials and face-to-face meetings.

As mentoring is an excellent way to develop leadership potential and enhance communications throughout the organization, protegees benefit greatly from exposure to individuals with experience at the National level and can share this insight with their local areas. Mentors are able to gain a better perspective of issues and concerns in local areas, thus staying more connected to the grass roots of our organization.

The Young Leadership Gift Development Training (YLGDT)
Solicitation is one of the most valuable and respected skills one can have within a nonprofit organization. It requires self-confidence, exceptional communication skills and excellent follow-through, as well as insight, warmth and commitment. Participants receive the step-by-step instruction and training that it takes to be successful solicitors and will see how rewarding it is to put their personal power to work for our ORT students everywhere.

National Meetings
The planning of Young Leadership sponsored events at National Conventions and Annual Meetings is accomplished by Young Leadership committees from communities across the country. Participating on planning committees offers an individual important skills-building, exposure to national leaders and valuable networking opportunities with other young women.

Young Leadership Initiatives
All across the country, Multi-Chapter Young Leadership Initiatives are in place to offer chapters the opportunity to band together and develop significant programming and fund raising events. The goal of these initiatives is to enhance the outreach and fund raising results of the individual chapters through their participation in a collaborative effort. Chapters can plan bigger events while being offered an opportunity to network with one another. Chaired by dynamic young women, these initiatives strengthen existing young leadership chapters.
