Women's American ORT has identified the following key ORT programs in critical need of funding. Israel

• The Sunflowers Project: Using computers, software, and training provided by ORT, students bring the Internet to young cancer patients.

• ORT Horowitz Comprehensive High School - Advice Center for the School Community: A counseling and advice center will be established for students, their parents and teachers to help them all navigate the pressures and challenges of modern-day society--with the ultimate goal of improving the students' functioning and academic performance.

• ORT Yad Shapira High School - Improving a School with a Multicultural Society: One of the primary goals of this school is to foster a multicultural, humanist community in Israel.

• ORT Miteranni High School - Promotion of Underachieving Students: This special needs school strives to improve the academic achievement of its disadvantaged students.

• ORT Ya'arat Ha'Emek Community Junior High School - Laptop Computer Classrooms: This school plans to equip junior high students with laptops to enable them to become computer literate.

• ORT Megadim Comprehensive High School - Science Centers Project: This highly acclaimed school's science labs are inadequate and outdated, so this project aims to outfit the labs with cutting-edge computers and equipment.

• ORT Syngalowski Comprehensive High School - Promoting Academic Achievement: Serving students from a disadvantaged socio-economic group, this school works to enable its students to achieve superior matriculation scores (and greater choices for higher education).

• ORT Hanna Senesz School - Matriculation Reinforcement for Slow Learners Project: Many of this school's students are recent immigrants to Israel, from disadvantaged backgrounds, and possess learning disablities, so this program has been established to ensure that they will be able to qualify for matriculation.

• ORT Melton High School and College - Student Achievement Improvement Project: This project aims to improve each student's overall performance by honing their critical thinking skills and learning habits.

• ORT Montreuil: ORT France's flagship school, housed in a former pasta factory in a suburb of Paris, is undergoing its first major renovation and refurbishment since 1947.

• Project Regeneration - Developing Technology Centers at Jewish Schools in Russia, Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus: Building upon the tremendous accomplishments of Phase I of Project Regeneration 2000, this campaign seeks to secure funding for three additional technology centers in the Newly Independent States.

• The St. Petersburg and Kiev Mezuzot Project: A Mezuzah will be affixed to each classroom doorpost in these ORT schools - a Jewish tradition long denied under Soviet rule.

• ORT Technology Center in Dniepropetrovsk - Ecology Laboratory: In light of such catastrophes as Chernobyl, students are taught the history of technological development and its effect (both positive and negative) upon nature and society.

• The ORT Technology Center in Dniepropetrovsk and ORT Kiev Technological Lyceum - Teamwork Training Projects: As greater numbers of companies utilize teams of workers at various sites to accomplish their objectives, they are demanding that their employees possess the skills to work productively as team members.
