That’s what ORT is all about, our mission. We connect Jewish youth to their past by bringing Jewish history and education to life. We connect them to the future via ever-evolving technological developments—and to their own future by providing a skill that will take them from school into an adult world, proud and self-sufficient. And certainly, we connect the ORT family, wherever that family lives, by sharing information and knowledge—and providing them with a forum to share thoughts and ideas, hopes and dreams.

Women’s American ORT understands the relationship between a quality education and the future of the Jewish people. That’s why we have identified the following ORT programs in critical need of funding. By generously supporting WAO, you can have a direct and long-lasting effect on the lives of so many. The gift of an education is the gift that keeps on giving—and keeps us connected.

If a project is fully subscribed, Women’s American ORT reserves the right to transfer funds to another project with priority needs.

ORT Miteranni High School:
Helping Underachieving Students
Working to help special-needs students with small study groups, remedial courses and individual counseling.

Mathematics:
The Gateway to Advanced Technology for young ORT women
Encouraging girls to study higher levels of mathematics and physics, leading to careers in the fields of engineering and physical sciences.

ORT Horowitz Comprehensive High School:
Advice Center for the School Community
Identifying and counseling students at-risk for social, emotional and psychological problems in need of professional support.

Bridges:
Promoting Jewish-Arab Dialogue
Bringing together Jewish and Arab students in the pursuit of scientific and technological research.

ORT Syngalowski Comprehensive High School:
Promoting Academic Achievement
Helping students achieve superior matriculation scores through small study groups as well as auxiliary classes in math and English.

ORT Comprehensive High School in Rehovot:
A Different Literature
Introducing literature in a unique, innovative way by linking literature with other arts such as cinema, theater, painting and music.

ORT Melton High School and College:
Promoting Academic Achievement
Helping students from low socio-economic families obtain a matriculation diploma within a technological discipline of their choice, improving cognitive and learning skills.

ORT Israel’s Learning Skills Centers:
Providing Light When the Future Seems Dim
Offering an intervention plan that addresses the needs of each individual student, working to support them within the mainstream program rather than removing them from the classroom. Women’s American ORT has adopted Learning Skills Centers in three ORT Israel schools--ORT High School in Yeruham, ORT Guttman in Netanya and ORT Kiryat Bialik.

RUSSIA
Open School System for the Jewish School in St. Petersburg, Russia
Encouraging students to continue their studies after school hours and from their own homes to make them competitive with students at state-run schools.

ORT OPERATIONS USA
ORT Operations USA consists of three main schools: Bramson ORT
College in New York, Zarem/Golde ORT Technical Institute in
Chicago and Los Angeles ORT Technical Institute (LAOTI).
The highest priority at all three schools is assisting students in securing jobs upon completion of the programs. The curriculum includes cutting-edge courses in computer technology and electronics, as well as English as a Second Language (ESL) and other key courses that offer graduates marketable vocational skills.

ORT Operations USA has also established Resource and Technology
Centers to help update American Jewish classrooms by offering schools and their teachers cutting-edge hardware and software solutions.
