Teamwork Training Projects

Like all ORT programs in Russia and Ukraine, the ORT Technology Center in Dniepropetrovsk and the ORT Kiev Technology Lyceum prepare students for the increasingly dominant world of high-tech work, either in their native land, or in a country where they plan to emigrate. As greater numbers of companies utilize teams of workers to accomplish their objectives, they are demanding that their employees possess the skills to work productively as team members. However, these teamwork skills are usually not innate, but must be acquired and honed. Therefore, one of the primary goals of these schools is to provide the ORT students with teamwork training. To achieve this objective, ORT Kiev Technology Lyceum (230 students) and ORT Technology Center in Dniepropetrovsk (700 students) are designing a curriculum for ORT's students to master the essential skills required in order to operate as part of a team, and effectively contribute to their own and future employers' success.

Contributions to this project will enable ORT to:

• Develop and produce coursework materials;

• Facilitate teacher training for the new program;

• Purchase furniture, video and communication equipment; and

• Implement technology-related group projects to give students hands-on teamwork experience.
